Katie, Emily and I have been on our very first destination engagement session! We have been to Wisconsin to see where Jessica was born and raised. Katie shot Jake (my second oldest son) and his fiancé Jess' Save the Date session earlier this year on the Tennessee Tech Golden Eagle football field. Last month we travelled all the way up to Cedarburg, WI to shoot the second part of their engagement and then a couple of weeks ago Katie and Emily shot the last part of here in Riddleton, TN. While up in WI, we met many of Jessica's relatives and got to see the beautiful state of WI. From eating brats, baked beans to eating ice cream and butter burgers, attending the annual Strawberry Fest, browsing antique shops and relishing the vast historical landmarks we were able to fit in some photo shoots. There was rain forecasted all week while we were there but with much prayer, God held off the rain during the shoot. He is so good! Jessica was able to borrow her grandmother's bicycle and her grandfather was so gracious in bringing out his prized 1969 Dodge Charger. Jessica's mom Lynet did her hair, makeup and nails at Carter's Salon where she works. Jake was cooperative too since we promised him ice cream! No, he loves the fedora and suspenders and it truly changes his personality when he puts them on :) We also had our first run in with the law. Apparently the police thought we were driving on the old bridge. Jessica's grandfather backed the car carefully right up to the bridge but we promise, we never set one tire on the bridge!
Back here in Riddleton Katie was able to capture the country style pics including Jess' furry friend, Beau. We are looking forward to the October wedding in Townsend, TN. No, we won't be behind the camera this time around.
