Millard was so cooperative and we could definitely tell that he absolutely adores Stephanie. He is going to surely melt when that sweet little girl is placed in his arms. The teddy bear holds a sentimental value to Stephanie since it was given to her by her mom and the "O" was made by her baby sister. I don't think Olivia will be starved for the attention she deserves! She already has two parents who adore her!
Needless to say, it was a gorgeous spring day and we had so much fun with these expectant parents and their furry companion! We can't wait to meet Olivia!

We have been super busy the last month or so, outside pictures not so much, but we have been shooting sporting events. We are following Gordonsville High School sports for the Carthage Courier. If you have not noticed some of the pictures in the paper have been credit of Double Takes. We are really enjoying the sports pictures, and catching shots of players battling it out on the court.
We are also very excited about Spring approaching! Not only to finally thaw out from all the cold, but also to capture some pictures. We would love to do Mommy and Me Sessions for Mother's Day! It always seems like time flies, and Mother's Day is approaching fast. It is so fun to just capture images of the bond between mother and child. We always try to get more pictures of interaction than that of a pose when it comes to Mommy and Me Sessions.
Also Easter Pictures are fun. No we don't have bunnies or chicks, but Easter would be a perfect time to have family photos made. I wish I would have had more family photos made than I have. My little toothless guy is now a big boy, and it makes me sad that I have not had more made. I have snapped pictures most days, but not enough of family photos.
Father's Day is approaching fast also and what a better way to celebrate Daddy than to capture some fun together? Daddy's Girls are so sweet, and this is a prime example of what we do, and how we like our interaction pictures.
Spring would be the prime time to get your Senior Pictures done. When schools do them on the end of your Junior year they can seem outdated since you change over a years time. So this would be the perfect time for Seniors to get there pictures taken and look like they did during their Senior year.
Also with prom is coming up sooner than you think. We would be happy to do prom pictures for any person going to prom. You get all dressed up for one night so you might want some pictures to reflect on a fun night. We will take them at a location of your choice!
We also do events. We can do any birthday, gender reveal, baby shower, or any special moment that you want captured on film. I love doing exciting parties and watching expressions.
We are also now offering Fresh 48 sessions!! The first 48 hours of a baby's life is so precious, and let's be honest mommy won't feel too much like taking pictures of your bundle of joy. Daddy will be too excited to remember to pick up the camera also. Let us come do the work for you! There is nothing sweeter than a newborn baby, and their first moments in this world.
.
Look how tiny my bundle of joy was!! I was so excited for my Mother-In-Law to be there to get these pictures. I would have never been able to see his reaction to his first bath, or any of him in the nursery if it had not been for her standing outside the window snapping these pictures. We have also purchased a new lens that is perfect for the shots of new baby and parents in a tight delivery room.
Wow that was a long blog, and my child is quiet. A quiet two year old is never a good sign. So as always we would be happy to take pictures for any occasion for you and your family. We are working on updating our pricing list, and will get more info out on that later. Please let us know if we can be of any help at any time. We love what we do, and love watching precious moments as we capture them on film.
Stay warm and safe,
Kim Hoot

It seems like yesterday that we were taking pictures of Mommy's Growing Belly.
And now this little guy is 6 months old and standing! It seems like in the blink of an eye your baby grows up to be a toddler.
Ja
I love the pictures of Mommy and Jack with Daddy's Army jacket.
Look at that smile and those squishy little cheeks, makes me want to pinch them! Such a handsome little guy. He was so happy to be the center of attention. A simple song from one of his toys made him smile so big!
We love being able to watch babies grow by capturing their milestones. We offer Birth Story Packages, and First Year Packages. Contact us for any prices or details.

From left to right are Amy, Hannah, Diana, and Grace. We have had the privilege to know all of these girls from our church, not to mention that Diana is dating Ben. Everyone always told me that you can count your friends on one hand, and these girls are the best of friends.
Even though some of your friends will go to different states, or just get busy with life you will always have the comfort to pick back up where you left off as if they never left. Friendship is such a close bond, you share everything with your best friend, and it is no different with these girls.
Your friends know your secrets, know your every whim, and they just get you. A friend is always someone you can turn to when life is getting you down. These girls are now starting their own lives, and venturing out into the world. Diana is now in another town attending college, Hannah is married and expecting her first child.
Capturing friends is like capturing a family. Especially when they have known each other as long as these girls have.
We wish these girls the best of luck, as they go their own ways.
At Double Takes we love to capture any kind of moments with your friends, family, church family. We also do special events such as weddings, birthdays, and Church gatherings. We love our jobs, and we love to capture special moments for people to hold on to for a lifetime. Let us know if we can capture any moments for you. We appreciate business, and we love being around others as they interact.
So long,

Now on to some photos of the shoots we have been doing..
These are Senior Sessions that we did for the class of 2014. Can you believe that students have already started back for the 2014-2015 school year? With that being said, it is a perfect time to start planning ahead and booking Senior pictures for the 2015 Graduates. We would be happy to do photos here at the end of Summer, and even in the Fall for any of the class of 2015. I love lifestyle photography for Senior shoots! I wish I would have done some like this instead of the posed, harsh light ones I had made in the school cafeteria, but that was 10 years ago!! Guess I am showing my age...
We also did a sweet little family during the Summer. These boys were so full of energy and excitement, just like any little boy! It is so fun to watch families interact with one another, and give you the opportunity to capture it on film. I love my job....
Now on to an engagement Session. It was warm during this session, but I have to say that the couple was very cooperative. Even with the hot weather, we had a good time. They look so in love don't they...
Now these pictures are from Tyler's 1st Birthday party, I know his birthday was in December, but better late than never right?? I have to say I was so happy to have another photographer to take these pictures. I love taking pictures, but I also enjoyed being able to be up front and center to celebrate his day with him. Yes we can do a party or event for anyone....
And last but not least, Christmas pictures!! It is time to start thinking about Christmas, and yes I know it is only August. I think it is better to be ahead of the game, and get them done. Last year I was running to the store in the cold to get them completed to get mailed quick enough for Christmas...never fun! Also if you do them early you beat the cold, and can have them made outdoors without freezing to death! You can see the excitement in these guys eyes...ready for Christmas!
We appreciate all of our customers that choose us to capture their precious memories! We also appreciate everyone who takes the time to look at our blog, photos, and website. If you like what you see we would be happy for you to leave feedback on our guestbook page! We love hearing from people, and we love our job! We also will be happy to do photos for you and your family. I feel like we are reasonably priced, because we understand that sometimes taking pictures can be the last thing on the list. We also know that if you don't take pictures now the time will have passed. If anyone is interested in prices or booking a shoot please let us know!!
Until Next Time,
Kim Hoot

Mother's Day is approaching fast, and the perfect gift is a "Mommy and Me Session". We did a mommy and me session last year for a family at our church, and it was so much fun. We like to get pictures of the children just interacting with their mom. Children have such a special connection with their mothers, and that is easy to see in the pictures.
It is also a perfect time to start thinking about Fathers Day, and pictures with Daddy. A little boy grows up trying to be just like Daddy, and what is more special than a father with his son. Of course I am a little partial to this father/son combo!
Family pictures are good any time of year. I suggest doing family pictures as often as possible. It is amazing to look back, and see how much your family has changed from photo to photo. I look at these pictures, and think how small my bundle of joy was at that time, and how I miss that tiny little guy!
I am sure in a few months Libby's mommy will look at these pictures, and think where has the time gone! They grow up so fast, and it seems that they change every day at this age. Just look at those little cheeks squished between mommy and daddy kisses! So precious and full of life!
And finally Senior Sessions! We have been busy doing senior sessions for many of the class of 2014. Senior Sessions are so much fun. You look at this young person on their way to exiting high school, and entering the world. They have the world at their fingertips, and are so eager to find themselves as adults, just waiting to see what God has in store for their lives.
Now for a little bit about what has been going on with us here at Double Takes. Most of the Hoots were in Texas for two weeks for a vacation, and to spend time with family. I call it a vacation but while they were away they did two weddings, a senior shoot, and a family session. Double Takes has been busy, busy, busy. I held the fort down here in Tennessee, while Stacy, Katie, Emily, and Vivy were working on capturing precious memories with family and friends. We are still in the process of getting those photos edited, delivered, and posted. Keep checking back to get a look at those pictures!
We have several upcoming shoots in the next week or two, but we would love to capture some memories for you! We so enjoy spending time with families just capturing their moments.

We would like to start by introducing you to Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Dunn! This is our very first blog! Please bear with us and we try to learn the ropes and jargon.
Last year Katie and Emily had the opportunity to take engagement photos of Jacob and Hannah. The weather was predicted to be horrible that day but with much prayer it actually turned out great! Some of their photos are posted in the engagement gallery.
We were honored to capture Jacob and Hannah's special wedding day. It could not have been a better day! The weather warmed up considerably for February. They chose to have their ceremony at Cornerstone Baptist Church in the evening. The ceremony was candlelit and just beautiful.
We have known Hannah since she was a little girl playing dress up. We have only known Jacob for a short time. They met, fell in love and now are beginning their life together. What a joy to see their very first kiss ever on their wedding day! What a testimony!
Three of us were able to capture many moments during the course of the day. Emily borrowed a camera so that she could pitch in. The wedding was not only beautiful but there were so many precious family moments. The Dunn and Price families were so easy and cooperative to work with. The groom's father just so happened to be his best man and Jacob's brothers were the groomsmen. One of his nephews was the ring bearer and the other was the junior groomsman. Hannah's sister was her matron of honor and three of the friends that she has grown up with filled in as her bridesmaids. Her nieces were the flower girl and junior bridesmaid. It was doubly officiated by Hannah's and Jacob's pastors.
What a joy it was to be a part of their special day and we can't wait to see what lies ahead in their lives. May God continue to bless them in every way! Congratulations Jacob and Hannah!
Here are just a few from their beautiful wedding! Please feel free to leave them a special message!

Back here in Riddleton Katie was able to capture the country style pics including Jess' furry friend, Beau. We are looking forward to the October wedding in Townsend, TN. No, we won't be behind the camera this time around.

As many of you may know, we have known Sean for many years. He and his family are very special to us and we had the privilege of having Sean and his two brothers come down and help us with our missionary work in the Dominican Republic. We have only known Kendra for a short time but realized that she is perfect for Sean. She has such a sweet spirit and we look forward to what God has planned for them both.
Their wedding was filled with so much emotion. What a blessing it was to be there front and center capturing their special day. Kendra was a beautiful bride and Sean's face when he saw her for the first time was priceless! Okay, that is my favorite part of each wedding- the groom's initial reaction when he sees his beautiful bride! There were many joyful tears throughout the day from Kendra even before the ceremony. Their vows were also emotional and many of those who attended the ceremony shed a tear or two.
]]>We have known Hannah for 15 years and have watched her grow up. Time has a way of sneaking up on us and we are overjoyed for this couple as they look forward to their future together. Our prayer is that they will allow the Lord to guide them and will let Him be the center of their home. Congratulations Tom and Hannah!
Please enjoy the slide presentation!
